About the Course
The topic "Treatment of Malunion in Calcaneal Fractures" is divided into two parts. In the first part you will learn more about the reconstruction of calcaneal fracture malunion with osteotomy and subtalar joint salvage. You will get to know more about contraindications for salvage joint operations, preoperative imaging, the tongue-type calcaneal malunion classification and postoperative care. The first part concludes with a case discussion on calcaneal fracture malunion.
In the second part, the European approach to the management of post-traumatic sequelae of the ankle and hindfoot is illustrated with numerous case examples. The topics of post-traumatic problems, ankle osteoarthritis due to chronic instability of the ankle, severe ankle destruction, nonunion ankle arthrodesis and hindfoot reconstruction are illuminated in detail.
